IAD 5: Tree? by Chris Leavens

By Chris Leavens

I had this idea... a forest made of all metal scraps. So I started drawing this tree and it ended up being a torturous mess. The effect I created to give the pipes dimension, in cooperation with a light drop shadow (for depth) crashed my computer about a dozen times. So I wrapped this one up and called it quits.

To be entirely honest, it doesn't fit into what I normally like to do, but here it is anyway, my very own Maxwell's Silver Hammer.

Joan was quizzical.

Nice. it actually looks like some kind of fancy "old money" company logo. Maybe for an unorthodox Wall Street proctologist.

The typeface is cool... One of my favourite bands uses it for their album covers, or at least the only one I have, which is their African tour LP, if I recall...

I shall now go and write fifty times that I must not be so oh-oh-ohh...

Please draw something involving tropical fish and patent leather. Make it anti-iconic but at the same time totally money. Also make it so it reminds us of travel.

This is my new favorite and I don't know why. Is it because of the artwork or simply because it features the word "ass" in fancy type? I have a lot of soul searching to do.

I really, really like this one. I would consider buying it, if you were selling it. It is very clean and precise, yet chaotic. Much like any home improvement task I have ever tried to take on.

Funny thing is, I've been hearing similar comments from a bunch of people. I think I would have liked it more if it wasn't such a burden to create. The stress it put on my computer was phenomenal, but it did give me an excuse to buy more RAM.

More Ram is good. I still think that that was one of Macca's best post-Beatles efforts.

It all comes back to Sir Paul. Too -- many -- oblique -- Beatles references -- Head about -- to explode.

But seriously, how much would you charge for this?
